Lab Manager
Role Responsibilities
- Manage inventory for research groups at Science
- Ensure equipment is calibrated and maintained according to SOPs
- Oversee the laboratory facility operations (cryogenic gases, fume hoods, BSCs, incubators, vacuum pumps, etc)
- Ensure that lab spaces at Science are clean and organized
- Maintain accurate and organized records
- Monitor and respond to alarms during business hours and after hours as required
Key Qualifications
- Bachelors degree, preferably in STEM major or related field
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable around a range of technologies
- Quick learner
- Intense energy, strives to fix problems before anybody else knows they are problems
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in life sciences, chemistry or engineering
- 1-2 years in bench work
- 2+ years lab management experience
- Exposure to cleanroom environments, preclinical, GLP, GMP or CLIA
- Experience with electronic inventory systems or LIMS
Pay & Benefits
For individuals hired to work in California, Science is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. We determine your level based on your interview performance and make an offer based on geo-located salary bands. The base salary range for this full-time position is $95,000-$120,000 + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

About the Role
We are seeking a strongly motivated Lab Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting scientific operations at Science. Science is a multidisciplinary company spanning discovery research, cell culture and micro fabrication. The resulting multidisciplinary team uses all sorts of equipment and reagents. You will take responsibility for the general state of our lab spaces, make the trains run on time, ensure we never run out of critical reagents, and see that our equipment is properly serviced and maintained.
