Lab Co-Op (Fall 2026)

About the Role

The Engineering Technology Co-op Student provides mechanical and/or electrical testing support in the development of new components and products, as well as in improving the performance, reliability, and cost of existing components and products. This role involves daily collaboration with engineering technicians and design engineers to set up, execute, collect data, and report on engineering tests.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing to support customer requests and inquiries.
• Participate in development projects by executing concept validation, design qualification, and manufacturing validation testing, including documentation.
• Support reliability testing for new product development launch programs.
• Assist product sustainability engineering and agency teams through test execution.
• Gain exposure to electrical and mechanical build-up and teardowns.
• Work with global cross-functional teams.
• Participate in training, including onboarding, safety training, monthly lab training, soldering training, and specific equipment training as applicable.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a relevant Engineering field.
• No prior experience required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills for global and cross-functional teams, with a high attention to detail.
• Basic mechanical skills and understanding of hand tools.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work toward specific action plans based on priority.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Self-directed work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.

Preferred Skills

• Aptitude for learning and using mechanical and/or electrical design tools to develop new designs and optimize existing ones.
• Good listening, communication, and technical comprehension skills for team-based design work.
