Lab Clinical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist in overseeing all activities in the laboratory.
• Assist with pre-analytical aspects of specimen processing/testing within the testing departments up to actual test performance.
• Ensure all collections are performed in a timely manner according to the Laboratory’s Blood Collection procedure.
• Transport all specimen samples and utilize the computer system for data entry and monitoring of workflow.
• Centrifuge blood specimens per laboratory department specifications.
• Maintain phlebotomy supplies in cart, tray and store room in an organized manner.
• Assist supervisory staff in inventory management.

Requirements

• High School Graduate / GED
• Phlebotomy certification preferred
• Phlebotomy and/or specimen accessioning experience preferred
