Lab Client Services Specialist

Shift Details: 4:30am-3:00pm, 4 shifts per week. Requires working one weekend per month and some holidays.
Essential Functions
- Communicate test results, specimen collection instructions, and laboratory information i.e. ordering, specimen location, and supply requests.
- Receive incoming calls from patients and clients looking for results and laboratory information.
- Make outbound calls to release critical values, STAT requested, clinically significant, and routine results within approved time requirements for Intermountain standards.
- Navigate multiple computer systems to aid in troubleshooting and resolving questions regarding laboratory services and support.
- Maintains accurate documentation of calls and information using detailed comments.
- Escalation of phone calls to the appropriate clinical personnel, when required.
- Able to de-escalate stressful situations calmly, respectfully and in a professional manner.
- Works collaboratively with other caregivers to meet the goals and workload of the department.
- Organizes and prioritizes workload effectively to meet department standards.
- Maintains patient confidentiality in all aspects of work.

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience working in a team environment
- Preferred Qualifications: HS Diploma or equivalent, Experience in a customer support role, Experience in a healthcare or clinical setting, Telephone customer service experience.
Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
- Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate supplies and equipment with precision and accuracy. Includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
- For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

About the Role
This position serves as the voice of Laboratory Services and is the primary contact for clinicians, patients, and clients. The team is responsible for calling test results to clinicians and taking inbound calls to provide test information, collection instructions, supply requests and testing results. and career advancement.
