Lab Chemist
Responsibilities
- Develop proficiency in the operation, maintenance, and functionality of analytical laboratory instrumentation.
- Collaborate with equipment vendors to commission analytical laboratory instruments and ensure compliance with site requirements.
- Create, validate, and update analytical test methods in accordance with established laboratory and site standards.
- Lead assigned analytical laboratory projects supporting operational goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure accurate documentation of laboratory activities and maintain compliance with applicable quality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline preferred.
- Equivalent hands-on laboratory experience and demonstrated chemical knowledge will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an analytical laboratory or manufacturing laboratory environment.
- Strong understanding of analytical laboratory equipment and laboratory best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience commissioning laboratory equipment, including instrument setup, verification, qualification, documentation, and readiness for routine operation.
- Experience developing, optimizing, or refining analytical test methods to ensure accuracy, precision, repeatability, and compliance with laboratory standards.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the ability to maintain regulatory compliance and accurate laboratory documentation.
- Demonstrated project leadership experience, including planning, coordinating, and successfully executing laboratory initiatives.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement efforts within a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
About the role
The position is located in Cordova, IL and is a 12 months contract position (possible extension on the basis of performance).
Pay
Approved Pay Range: $23 - $25/hr on W2
