Lab Central Processing Technician 1- Lab- FT- 2nd Shift
About the role
Provides technical support to the lab by receiving/processing requisitions/specimens and ordering specified lab tests according to standard operating procedures. Responds to phone requests and enters lab test data into computer.
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma or GED required. Education preferred: Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 semester hours of chemistry and 6 semester hours of biology preferred.
- Licensure, Certification and/or Registration: MLA certification from a nationally recognized credentialing agency (i.e. ASCP or AMT) preferred.
- Experience: Previous work experience strongly preferred.
- Keyboarding experience, 40 wpm preferred.
Additional Skills/Abilities
- Candidate must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced, customer service oriented environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
- Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient information.
- Able to work in a high stress environment with little/no downtime.
- Must be able to work in a team setting and maintain absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient information.
- Absolute integrity and accuracy in patient identification process.
