Lab Assistant - Surgical Pathology

About the role

Ready to be the backbone of our Surgical Pathology Lab? Here's what you'll be doing:

• Handle order entry, specimen and material pick-up, transportation, and tracking with precision and a positive attitude
• Receive and process specimens according to established procedures—keep everything organized and on track
• Utilize various information systems to complete tasks efficiently and accurately
• Operate and maintain pre- and post-analytic laboratory equipment, including laboratory automation systems
• Perform occasional phlebotomy services when needed at your assigned site (if applicable)
• Interact with patients, laboratory staff, and caregivers with genuine courtesy and professionalism

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required
• Strong computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
• Experience in a medical setting, hospital or clinic laboratory preferred
• Familiarity with medical terminology and human anatomy preferred
• Candidate with college-level course work in science preferred
