Lab Assistant (Specimen Technician I)

Lab Assistant (Specimen Technician I) position in Tucker, GA. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM.

Pay

Starting pay: $17.75+ per hour. Eligible for shift differential of 10% for second shift and 15% for third shift. Salary offers consider relevant skills, training, experience, education, certifications, and market factors. Annual performance bonus may be available.

Responsibilities

• Data entry of test orders
• Presort, pickup, and delivery of processed specimens to the laboratory
• Centrifugation and aliquoting of specimens
• Process specimens to be sent to additional facilities
• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Identify and resolve issues with specimen types (e.g., missing information)
• Understand the relationship between tests ordered and specimens received

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• No prior experience required; previous experience in a production or medical environment preferred
• Flexibility to work nightshift, with potential for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs
