Lab Assistant - Shilatifard lab
Job Summary
The Lab Assistant is responsible for managing physical resources, monitoring lab practices, troubleshooting lab instruments, assisting with data mining, and providing miscellaneous assistance to the Principal Investigator (PI) or their designee.
Specific Responsibilities
- Inventory Take inventory and stock hallway, storage and break rooms.
- Receive and distribute mail/packages to the correct lab group.
- Lab instruments/equipment Troubleshooting/maintenance Coordinate instrument movement/installation/training
- Work with instrument vendors and establish service contracts for all instruments
- Shipping Generate FedEx labels and coordinate shipping details
- Communications/emails Establish work relationship with vendors
- Follow up on outstanding orders
- Obtain quotes from vendors for reagents
- General Assist with new lab/department member onboarding/contact person
- Aid with coordinating with IT for new employees or tech issues
- Aid with department printer troubleshooting
- Lab Safety Coordinate annual safety inspections
- Cook up annual lab member safety trainings
- Cook up Biohazardous waste disposal
- Cook up completion of eIBC form
- Miscellaneous Perform other duties
Minimum Qualifications
- Some experience working in a laboratory or administrative medical office setting

Pay
Target hiring range for this position will be between $18.42-$23.02 per hour. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
