Responsibilities
- Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community respectfully.
- Collects all specimens according to established procedures from patients and ensures proper processing.
- Identifies patients accurately and matches their identity with the correct service for patient safety.
- Performs data entry and processing of specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as requested by test orders.
- Completes departmental-related clerical duties such as checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed.
- Resolves problems promptly and troubleshoots issues as necessary.
Requirements
- High School Degree or GED.
- Phlebotomist Certification preferred but not required.
- One-year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required.
- Experience in a customer service or retail environment preferred.
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner.
