Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist - Mary Immaculate Hospital - PRN

About the role

The Laboratory Department at Mary Immaculate Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate should have one-year phlebotomy experience and a certification in phlebotomy, although it is not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community respectfully
• Collects all specimens according to established procedures from patients and ensures proper processing
• Identifies patients accurately and matches their identity with the correct service for patient safety
• Performs data entry and processing of specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as requested by test orders
• Completes departmental-related clerical duties such as checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed
• Trains and assists other staff members in specimen collection techniques
• Answers internal and external calls in a friendly and helpful manner
• Assists with specimen transport to off-site locations as required

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred but not required
• One-year phlebotomy experience preferred but not required
• Experience in a retail or service environment preferred
