About the role

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. With our global scale and deep expertise, you’ll have the opportunity to do meaningful work, grow your career and make a real impact on people’s health around the world.

Schedule

• Night Shift, Tuesday - Saturday, 12:00 am - 8:30 am
• Required overtime based on business needs

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Comfortability with handling biological specimens
• Able to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Able to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment (preferred)
• One or more years of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory (preferred)
• One year or more of previous experience plating specimen samples using the WASP or similar automated microbiology plating systems (preferred)
