Lab Assistant (Full Time) - 7010

About the role

St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Lab Assistant. Under the supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services, Shift Supervisor, or authorized designee, and pursuant to Federal Regulations with clinical oversight by the Medical Director or appointed Pathologist, this role performs a variety of duties to support laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine clerical functions, including greeting patients and visitors.
• Enter physician orders into the computer system.
• Screen phone calls for test information.
• Handle data entry and retrieval of patient results and messages.
• Chart patient results.
• Support the Laboratory computer system to ensure efficient workflow.
• Manage the phlebotomy collection and triage area.
• Maintain printers and organize requisition requests.
• Perform routine phlebotomy, skin punctures, and in-house courier services.
