About the role

Newberry Health is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our exceptional team in Newberry County, SC. As a Lab Assistant, you will perform phlebotomy procedures on both inpatients and outpatients, collect blood samples with minimal discomfort to patients, and support the lab staff with various functions.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy procedures on inpatients and outpatients in a timely manner.
• Collect blood samples from patients as requested by physicians for laboratory testing.
• Ensure minimal discomfort to patients during blood collection.
• Support lab staff with various functions and tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program, or previous training and experience to perform phlebotomy.
• One-year prior experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
