Lab Assistant - Fall

Grow Pro Genetics is hiring two Lab Assistants for the Fall of 2026. The Lab Assistant will prepare seed for the Grow Pro Genetics research and development plots and support the Soft Red Winter Wheat breeding program based in Hamel, IL, under the direction of the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Process harvested wheat according to established protocols with strict attention to detail.
• Organize, sort inventory, and package seed.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Follow all safety precautions and report any safety issues to the Operations Manager.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED; currently enrolled in a college program.
• Recommendation from a previous employer and/or professor/teacher.
• Ability to follow written protocols and procedures.
• Clear and effective communication with the manager regarding processes and scheduling.
• Ability to work within a team to accomplish goals.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to wheat dust.
• Frequent lifting of up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to read and follow written protocols.
