Lab Assistant - DLMP - Clinical Forensic Tox Lab
About the role

Responsibilities
- Biological specimen receipt, identification, verification, processing, and storage
- Clerical duties including maintaining supply inventory, filing, stocking, receiving shipments, and cleaning
- Performing a variety of laboratory duties using various computer information systems
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Additional requirements include knowledge of laboratory functions, medical terminology, a background in science, and 1-2 years of medical experience (preferred)
- Previous experience or knowledge of computers and keyboarding, telephone operations, and other office equipment is desired
- Ability to accurately read specimen labels and work with numbers to prevent mislabeling
- Must be organized, able to prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Good human relations skills and effective communication abilities are essential
- Ability to accommodate scheduling adjustments, off-shifts, holiday, and weekend work assignments
- Attention to detail and adherence to strict safety requirements for handling chemicals, reagents, and infectious agents are necessary

Pay
The compensation range for this position is $20.00 - $24.75 per hour. This vacancy is not eligible for sponsorship/ we will not sponsor or transfer visas for this position. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
Schedule
This position will start as 1:00pm - 9:30pm (or somewhere close to those hours), with an upcoming position change likely moving this into a M-F 2nd shift position working the same hours as noted. Weekend Schedule: See schedule details section.
