Lab Assistant (Data Entry Representative I (SP))

Responsibilities

• Determining and verifying client account numbers, patient demographics and order codes into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Accurately perform all functions and in a timely manner.
• Maintains compliance and HIPAA regulations at all times.
• Works in a fast-paced environment.
• Mets quality and production standards.
• Must be detail-oriented with independent work habits.
• Demonstrates an ability to learn job duties and understand how all functions fit together.
• Demonstrates understanding of compliance policies related to Specimen Processing.
• Mets standards for production and accuracy within 6 months – 100% productivity rate.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Prior work experience doing primarily data entry; production environment preferred.
• Able to sit for long periods.
• Visually interpret information.
• Solid organizational skills.
• Ability to transcribe/determine appropriate order codes and account numbers.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Communicates effectively and is cooperative with all levels of staff.
• Maintains composure while working under pressure.
• Adheres to Quest Diagnostics core values, safety, confidentiality, and compliance policies and procedures.
• Keeps work area neat and clean.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills that foster a positive environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
