Responsibilities

• Performs routine technical and clerical functions including specimen registration and billing
• Performs venipuncture/capillary puncture as assigned; labels tubes and specimen containers
• Handles specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens
• Performs CLIA waived laboratory tests as requested
• Assists in microbiology processing and plating specimens
• Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period
• Other related duties as assigned

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.

Requirements

Education

• Minimum: High School Graduate or equivalent
• Preferred: Completion of a Phlebotomy program

Experience

• Minimum: One year of laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program
• Preferred: Basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience

Certifications

• Required: Phlebotomy Certification where state law requires
• Preferred: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar
