Responsibilities
- Performs routine technical and clerical functions including specimen registration and billing
- Performs venipuncture/capillary puncture as assigned; labels tubes and specimen containers
- Handles specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens
- Performs CLIA waived laboratory tests as requested
- Assists in microbiology processing and plating specimens
- Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period
- Other related duties as assigned
This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.
Requirements
Education
- Minimum: High School Graduate or equivalent
- Preferred: Completion of a Phlebotomy program
Experience
- Minimum: One year of laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program
- Preferred: Basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience
Certifications
- Required: Phlebotomy Certification where state law requires
- Preferred: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar
