Lab Assistant

About the role

The Laboratory Assistant works as a phlebotomist and a specimen processor, handling samples coming into the laboratory and samples that need to be sent out to a reference lab.

Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting samples, checking in patients, and other phlebotomy area duties (performed daily).
• Take telephone messages and respond appropriately.
• Deliver, telephone, or fax reports (performed daily).
• Process and prepare incoming samples and manage shipping of specimens.
