Lab Assistant
Brief Description
The Laboratory Assistant supports patient care by performing routine clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, specimen collection, immunizations, CLIA-waived testing, and basic laboratory procedures. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate electronic medical records, monitoring laboratory supplies and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and supporting quality patient care through effective communication and customer service. The Laboratory Assistant works collaboratively with providers and care team members, maintains a safe and organized work environment, and helps ensure efficient clinic operations while upholding the mission and values of Lawndale Christian Health Center.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy training program and phlebotomy certification are preferred.
- Experience in a medical office, laboratory, hospital, or other clinical setting.
- Proficiency in performing venipunctures, injections, and immunizations for patients of all ages.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary care team.
- Commitment to providing compassionate, culturally responsive patient care.
- Organized, adaptable, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while standing for extended periods.
- Bilingual ability is preferred as needed.
