KSC Adjunct Faculty- Elementary Education (Literacy and Social Studies)
About the role
The Education Department at Keene State College is seeking qualified applicants for an adjunct faculty position in Elementary Education for the 2026-27 academic year. This is a part-time benefited position.
Responsibilities
- Teach EDUC 321 Elementary Methods: Literacy and Social Studies - Integration of theoretical and practical approaches to literacy and social studies instruction in grades K-6.
- Apply curriculum development (lesson planning and cross-curricular integration), structured literacy instruction and assessment, children's literature, pedagogical practices and arts integration through extended clinical experiences.
Requirements
- Earned master’s degree in education or related field by August 1, 2026.
- Minimum of five years full-time teaching experience in public schools at the elementary level (K-6).
- Availability to teach in-person, during the day (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8am-12pm).
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in literacy content and pedagogy.
- Experience teaching in an inclusive environment with diverse student populations (examples: SES, students with IEPs and 504 plans, ELL, cultural, and racial/ethnic).
- College teaching experience.
- Supervision experience.
Qualifications

Skills
- Strong knowledge of literacy and social studies instruction.
- Ability to integrate theoretical and practical approaches effectively.
- Experience with curriculum development and lesson planning.

- Knowledge of children's literature and pedagogical practices.
- Experience with arts integration and extended clinical experiences.
- Experience teaching in an inclusive environment with diverse student populations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Benefits
