About the role

Ungdommens Røde Kors (URK) is a civil society organisation working to ensure no children or young people are left out of the community. You will be part of a secretariat supporting 3,500 young volunteers who run social activities across Denmark and internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute communication plans for selected social activity areas and themes.
  • Create and produce content—both independently and in co-creation with children and young people—for various platforms (social media, urk.dk, events, and campaigns) and target groups.
  • Disseminate URK’s messages with a sharp focus on both the existing fanbase and new audiences.

Requirements

  • Relevant educational background from a university, professional college, or equivalent experience (e.g., agency work).
  • Curiosity and skill in crafting engaging stories in different formats, with the ability to distill the core of a story.
  • Passion for creativity as both a professional tool and a means to capture your target audience’s attention, with experience in co-creation to build ownership.
  • Structured approach to developing purpose-driven communication plans, including execution of content production and dissemination.
  • Professional understanding of social media (both organic and paid).
  • Strong collaboration skills, working with case subjects, colleagues, and partners.

It is an advantage, though not required, if you are interested in the intersection of behavioral psychology and communication.

Work environment

You will join a communication team of skilled colleagues working across various business areas (e.g., fundraising and social activities), each combining a broad communication toolkit with a specialized focus (e.g., press, creative storytelling, video, digital user journeys, and graphic design). The team is part of the Communication, Fundraising, and Digitalization department, collaborating closely with the secretariat’s three other departments.

Benefits

  • Employment under a collective agreement with salary placement based on seniority.
  • Paid lunch break.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Energetic and healthy organizational culture with a focus on professional challenges and social community.

Pay

Salary is determined by collective agreement based on seniority.

Schedule

  • 37-hour workweek.
  • Position is initially fixed-term for 2 years with the possibility of extension.
  • Work location: Ungdommens Røde Kors’ secretariat at Hejrevej 30, Copenhagen NV.

Consent to a child certificate check is required for employment and will be conducted periodically.

For specific questions, contact Line Holten Sichmann, Head of Communication, Fundraising & Digitalization, at line@urk.dk between July 27 and August 7.
