Knowledge Management & Innovation Director
Nossaman is seeking a Knowledge Management & Innovation Director to lead the Firm's knowledge management, innovation, and AI enablement initiatives. This role reports to the Chief Information Officer, follows the Firm's hybrid work schedule, and is located in the Los Angeles Office.
About the Role
Working closely with attorneys, practice groups, and administrative departments, the Director will champion initiatives that improve access to institutional knowledge, promote the effective use of emerging technologies, and support the Firm's strategic objectives. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader, trusted advisor, and change agent who can identify opportunities, build consensus, and deliver solutions that create measurable value for the Firm and its clients.
What Success Looks Like
- Leads and executes a firmwide knowledge management and innovation strategy that strengthens attorney effectiveness, practice excellence, and client service.
- Enhances how knowledge is captured, organized, shared, and reused across the Firm, making valuable resources easier to find and leverage.
- Identifies, evaluates, and implements AI-enabled and legal technology solutions that improve productivity, efficiency, and service delivery.
- Partners effectively with Firm leadership, practice groups, and administrative departments to advance innovation, technology adoption, and process improvement initiatives.
- Establishes meaningful metrics and reporting that demonstrate user adoption, engagement, and business impact.
- Builds and leads a high-performing KM & Library team that fosters collaboration, continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; J.D. or equivalent legal industry experience strongly preferred.
- Seven or more years of progressive leadership experience in knowledge management, legal innovation, legal technology, legal operations, professional support, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of law firm operations, legal workflows, knowledge management principles, legal technology, and AI-enabled solutions.
- Demonstrated success leading organizational change, influencing stakeholders, and driving technology adoption.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, project management, and strategic thinking skills.
Pay
The expected pay range for this position is $190,000 to $220,000 annually. Actual compensation will depend on a variety of factors, including the candidate's qualifications and experience.
