Responsibilities
- Drafting, updating and managing model documents, precedents, checklists, benchmarking surveys, market trend reports, and other substantive content for the Practice, ensuring such content is up-to-date and readily accessible on the firm’s intranet and other content-sharing platforms.
- Working with Life Sciences partners to author and publish thought leadership content, including client-facing newsletters, deal trend analyses, and regulatory updates, curating and analyzing industry developments for the life sciences sector; in addition to circulating internal market updates to the Life Sciences practice.
- Serving as a source of legal, regulatory, market and practical expertise; identifying and collecting key data points of the Practice’s legal work for statistical analysis and post-deal assessments, benchmarking and market trends.
- Monitoring and proactively alerting the Practice of important legal, regulatory and market developments relevant to the Life Sciences practice, including developments in FDA regulation, biologics, clinical trials, and transactional market trends; supporting the writing and publication of external client alerts on such developments.
- Serving as a source of legal, regulatory, market and practical expertise; identifying and collecting key data points of the Practice’s legal work for statistical analysis and post-deal assessments, benchmarking and market trends.
- Supporting the evaluation, pilot testing, and responsible use of Generative AI tools by the Life Sciences practice, including assessing use cases, gathering lawyer feedback, developing workflows and prompts, and contributing to pilot programs.
- Developing curriculum for, and participating in, training initiatives for the Practice, including internal training sessions, client workshops, and other firm educational training programs.
- Working with the Knowledge & Innovation team to develop solutions to increase efficiency, enable legal project management and improve legal service delivery of the Practice; such as generative AI templates and workflows, document assembly packages, expert systems and client-facing solutions.
- Participating in K&I team meetings to facilitate the sharing of best practices and knowledge, and performing such other duties as requested by the K&I Department.
- Assisting in business development efforts for the Practice, including thought leadership initiatives, client seminars and pitches, to elevate the awareness and value of the Practice and the firm’s K&I program.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor required.
- 7+ years legal experience within the life sciences practice of a large law firm or as a life sciences industry expert, with substantive transactional experience in areas such as joint ventures, collaboration agreements, clinical trial arrangements, material transfer agreements, and/or biologics.
- Passion for knowledge-sharing, efficiency and excellence in legal work, and prior experience as a knowledge and/or innovation practitioner within a law firm or in-house legal department preferred.
- Well established understanding of the life sciences transactional market and its distinct legal and regulatory dynamics.
- Experience using AI in the performance of legal services and strong interest in working with legal technology, such as artificial intelligence, document automation, and collaboration platforms.
Qualifications

Pay
The Target Salary Range For This Position Varies By Location And Is Commensurate With Relevant Experience: $200,000 - $250,000
