Knit Tops Technical Designer

About the role

Freelance onsite position in Midtown, NYC, requiring 4‑5 days per week (32‑40 hours) for a duration of 2+ months. Pay rate is $40/hr. The role supports the development and fit of knit‑top product for a leading retail organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical specifications for knit‑top styles.
• Create, review, and update garment measurements, construction details, and fit standards.
• Conduct fittings and translate feedback into clear, actionable fit comments.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams and vendors throughout the product‑development process.
• Help ensure consistency, quality, and accuracy from development through production.

Requirements

• Technical design experience focused on knit tops or comparable apparel categories.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, specifications, measurement, and fit.
• Experience preparing development specs and processing fit comments.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced product‑development environment.
