Kitting Operator

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Planning the workload for the day/week through assigned reporting and direction from leadership
  • Create or print work order travelers based on the schedule
  • Complete the work orders through the operating system with a 100% accuracy goal
  • Audit coworkers’ system transactions
  • Print labels for designated product being created
  • Contributes to accident-free operations and compliance to all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements
  • Assembles pre-formed boxes
  • Creates packages containing correct number of items for kitting packages, including handrails, spindles, printed installation directions, templates and building screws
  • Lables completed boxes
  • Bands and covers completed boxes
  • Performs additional duties as needed and/or assigned by supervision/management

Qualifications, Education, And/or Experience

  • Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in fast-paced, warehouse environment
  • Attention to detail, essential
  • Work schedule flexibility, with or without notice, to accommodate the needs of the business
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Preferred
  • One to three years’ experience in a similar position
  • Forklift certification preferred (sit down and stand up) as well as material handling experience

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work in an environment that can become cold/ hot (temperature)
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for long periods of time and occasionally required to walk;
  • Use hands to hold, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls;
  • Reach with hands and arms;
  • Climb stairs;
  • Balance;
  • Sit;
  • Use hands to manipulate;
  • Reach outward;
  • Reach above shoulder;
  • Climb stairs;

  • Other physical requirements:
  • Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth)
  • Sense of Sound - Ability to understand conversational speaking
  • Sense of Touch
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - per safety guidelines

Work Environment

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment where temperatures that can become very hot depending on the weather.
