Environmental Solutions Group – Marathon Equipment, Vernon, AL. Reports to: Production Supervisor, Operations Department, 1st shift.

About the role

This position is primarily responsible for organizing kitting based on load schedules and for determining parts availability using the ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Observe all safety regulations and report unsafe working conditions to the Department Supervisor.
• Read work orders to determine kitting requirements and use the ERP system to check parts availability.
• Follow the Department Supervisor’s direction to move materials or parts using forklifts.
• Determine when parts are needed and communicate requirements to the Fab department.
• Monitor and update an Excel-based load schedule with orders to be kitted and labeled.
• Prioritize kits based on load schedules.
• Maintain certification for forklift use and other specialized equipment as required.
• Manually load and unload parts up to 40 pounds; assist with parts above 40 pounds.
• Perform preventative maintenance checks on equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) and submit maintenance requests as needed.
• Identify materials and parts as required.
• Support production requirements, including overtime as coordinated through supervision.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment.
• Prepare production kits (raw material, parts, sub-assemblies, purchased parts, or combinations) as listed on bills of materials (BOMs) or special instructions.
• Perform other tasks to support operations and customer satisfaction, provided they can be done safely without special training.

Requirements

• Knowledge and experience on different production lines for familiarity with Marathon equipment models and associated fabricated parts.
• Ability to understand general arithmetic, write clearly, and follow verbal or written instructions.
• Proficiency in reading instructions, lists, and billing materials.
• Experience with PC-based applications, including Mainstar, JD Edwards, Outlook, and Microsoft Office (knowledge typically acquired through high school or equivalent experience).

• Mental: Normal attention with intermittent periods of high concentration to operate machinery approximately 50% of the time.

• Manual Dexterity: Use of hands, arms, and feet for repetitive lifting, operating manufacturing equipment, and recording written information.
• Audible Demands: Ability to follow verbal instructions and hear for safety purposes.
• Visual: Ability to visually observe essential functions for job performance and safety; color and depth perception required.
• Environmental: Exposure to plant environments with dust, fumes, noise, and fluctuating temperatures due to lack of climate control.
