KITCHEN SUPERVISOR I (Job ID# - 52433)

Location: Concord, NH • Full-time • $22.50–$30.02/hour + $60 biweekly Hazardous Duty Pay

About the Role

Supervises subordinate employees and inmate workers in a large correctional kitchen and provides training and education programming in all aspects of food service at the New Hampshire State Prison for Men (NHSPM). This position works in close and immediate contact with prisoners on a daily basis and has responsibility for security. May be required to provide assistance at the New Hampshire Correctional Facility for Women’s kitchen on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities

• Supervise subordinate staff and inmate workers in daily kitchen operations.
• Deliver training and education programming in food-service procedures.
• Maintain security protocols while working in direct contact with incarcerated individuals.

Requirements

• Equivalent combination of 4 years of education and experience after high-school completion in culinary arts, large-quantity cookery, food services, restaurant management, or a related field.
• Valid driver’s license or access to transportation for statewide travel.
• Must pass security and background screenings required for correctional environments.

Candidates with 3+ years of relevant education and experience may be considered and hired in trainee status.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification.

After-Hire Requirements

• Successful completion of the Corrections Academy within 12 months of hire.
• Continuing certification as correctional line personnel as established by the certifying authority.

Pay

$22.50–$30.02 per hour plus $60 biweekly Hazardous Duty Pay.
