About the role
Coordinates food preparation, serving, and clean-up while participating in the preparation and service of all food within the facility. Maintains high cooking standards, ensures timely meal service, and adheres to health standards and codes.
Responsibilities
- Develop menus, manage inventory, and place orders while observing cost control measures.
- Validate inventories and confirm delivery accuracy before acceptance.
- Maintain high cooking quality by managing lead times, timing meal service, and adhering to health standards.
- Oversee and operate kitchen equipment including mixers, ovens, choppers, shredders, steamers, grills, grinders, steam kettles, and fry kettles.
- Schedule staff to ensure continuous workflow and orient new staff to kitchen procedures and policies.
- Ensure compliance with all job site and work requirements.
- Maintain facility cleanliness and order while supervising staff appropriately.
Requirements
- ServSafe Food Protection Manager certification.
- 1-2 years of experience in a fast-paced food service environment.
Work Environment
Exposure to extreme temperatures, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise may occur.
Physical Requirements
- May require prolonged stationary positions, standing, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, crawling, balancing, squatting, bending, and reaching.
- Use of gear such as carts and dollies to move items.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 49 pounds.
Pay
$22.00 per hour. Pay is based on numerous factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
