Kitchen Steward
About the role
We are located approximately 20 miles north of Boston and parking is free. We are also accessible by commuter rail on the Newburyport/Rockport line. Come and explore Endicott’s seaside locale where employees are an important part of the bustling campus community!
Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dish room, kitchen areas, walk-ins, and storage spaces.
- Properly operate dishwashing equipment and report any maintenance concerns.
- Remove trash and recycling from kitchen and food service areas.
- Assist with banquet and event breakdown and cleanup as needed.
- Restock clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen supplies in designated areas.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors and maintain a clean working environment throughout shifts.
- Support kitchen staff with basic cleaning and organizational tasks during service periods.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries when needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous dishwashing, stewarding, or kitchen experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Basic understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation procedures preferred.
