About the role
The Kitchen Manager at NARA Northwest is responsible for overseeing food service operations in a Residential Treatment Facility. The primary responsibility involves supervising kitchen staff, preparing meals, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with NARA’s policies and procedures, as well as State, County, and Federal guidelines.
- Supervise all kitchen staff.
- Cook and prepare scheduled meals.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area.
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Serve and/or supervise meals to clients in the cafeteria.
- Monitor kitchen details for assigned clientele.
- Maintain professional relationships with vendors and NARA staff.
Requirements
- Experience in food service management, preferably in a residential setting.
- Knowledge of Indian Health Services, Multnomah County, and State of Oregon standards/guidelines.
- Ability to manage kitchen staff effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in food preparation and safety practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., culinary arts, hospitality management).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food service management.
- Valid Food Handlers' Permit.

Pay
$58,968.00 – $76,440.00 Exempt, Salaried.
Schedule
This is an in-person position, Monday through Friday, 5:00am - 1:30pm. Hours and days of work are flexible to meet program needs.
