About the role

This position supports the operation to deliver superior guest service by managing, coordinating, and preparing food, ensuring quality and consistency of products. It involves managing and monitoring food inventory, planning and assigning tasks, and maintaining records in compliance with company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manages, coordinates, and prepares food, ensuring quality and consistency of products.
  • Manages and monitors food inventory, estimating par levels and making appropriate orders.
  • Plans, prioritizes, and assigns work to kitchen staff to ensure productivity.
  • Manages and conducts inventory, maintains par levels of product, and places orders for food, equipment, and small wares as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with company and brand/concept standards of operating procedures, as well as applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Maintains proper storing, labeling, and rotation of food items and supplies.
  • Maintains temperature logs and other daily records and reports.
  • Recruits, selects, promotes, and trains associates and handles other status changes as needed.
  • Maintains effective communication and positive associate relations by managing progressive discipline, resolving associate relations issues, implementing incentive programs, and assisting with performance reviews.
  • Maintains equipment in accordance with established operating procedures and collaborates with maintenance staff to inspect, maintain, and replace equipment when necessary.
  • Fulfills safe food handling, cleaning, sanitizing, and workplace safety standards for operating a unit.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a technical or culinary program or equivalent of 4-5 years of demonstrated leadership in kitchen or food service management experience.
  • Sufficient communication skills to project a positive image and convey basic information to staff.
  • Basic knowledge and skilled in operation, maintenance, and cleaning of kitchen equipment.
  • The ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions; create correspondence and memos; and calculate weights and measurements.
  • The ability to learn, understand, and apply safety and sanitation regulations.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, kneel, and stoop; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; handle hot material; and use kitchen utensils and equipment.
