Kitchen Manager

Responsibilities

• Supervise and oversee the production and preparation of food in a manner consistent with established recipes and procedures
• In conjunction with all management, enforce compliance with all employment policies and oversee cleanliness of restaurant and safety of guests at all times
• Direct productivity to monitor and maintain efficient and effective food item ticket times
• Manage performance of Back of House employees, including conducting performance evaluations, coaching, and discipline
• Assist with the development of all key employees, assistant managers, and hourly employees by providing daily feedback on performance during one-on-ones
• Conduct formal line Taste & Temp checks as part of overall responsibility for inventory and safety in the kitchen
• Understand, manage, and practice safe food handling procedures
• Manage food costs, track waste, and control kitchen labor costs
• Direct work for Back of House employees, including setting hours and weekly schedules, and assigning tasks before, during and after open hours of the restaurant
• Train Back of House employees on equipment maintenance and cleaning procedures
• Review applications, interview, and hire or make recommendations to hire Back of House employees
• Create a safe, fun, and clean work environment for the staff in a manner consistent with our core values and operational goals

Qualifications

• A passion for made from scratch food
• Comprehensive understanding of food safety and handling procedures
• Experience in supervising and managing kitchen staff
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment and its proper use
• Experience with budgeting and cost control
