About the role
The successful candidate will manage the kitchen operations at Monkeypod Kitchen in Ka'anapali, overseeing food preparation, staff coordination, and ensuring high-quality service.
Responsibilities
- Manage kitchen operations including menu planning, inventory management, and food preparation
- Oversee staff coordination, training, and performance evaluations
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations
- Handle multiple priorities and adapt to a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Communicate effectively with all team members and guests
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required
Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform tasks requiring bending, climbing, and working in confined spaces
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Sense of vision, hearing, smell, taste, and touch
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar kitchen management role
- Experience with inventory management and menu planning
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
- Valid food handler’s license
