As a member of the restaurant leadership team, you'll lead back‑of‑house operations, develop and support the kitchen team, protect food quality, manage costs, and uphold the standards that make Edley's.

Responsibilities

  • Live our values of GRIT: Gutsy, Responsible, Impassioned & Thoughtful.
  • Own day‑to‑day back‑of‑house operations and lead the team in executing a safe, organized, and efficient kitchen.
  • Ensure consistent food quality, preparation, and execution while upholding the standards behind the BBQ and food our guests love.
  • Coach, train, and develop kitchen team members, building a strong bench and creating growth opportunities.
  • Monitor food cost, waste, yields, and portioning; identify opportunities to improve profitability without sacrificing quality.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, product levels, and organization to keep the restaurant prepared for business.
  • Partner with the General Manager and restaurant leadership to manage labor, improve operations, and contribute to overall success and profitability.
  • Maintain high standards for food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, equipment, and overall kitchen execution.
  • Personify our Southern Soul and create a kitchen environment where team members feel supported, challenged, and valued.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of kitchen management experience, preferably in a high‑volume, fast‑paced restaurant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, and food safety.
  • Experience managing food cost, inventory, ordering, and waste.
  • Working knowledge of labor management and restaurant financials.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, develop, and hold teams accountable.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain high standards while operating effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A genuine passion for food; BBQ experience or a love for the craft is a plus.
  • Open availability, including nights and weekends.
  • ServSafe or other relevant food‑safety certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, frequently move throughout the kitchen and restaurant, bend, reach, stoop, and kneel, and lift/carry up to 50 lb. The role includes working around hot equipment, smokers, and grills and may involve exposure to hot and humid kitchen conditions. The Kitchen Manager must be able to safely use kitchen tools and equipment and perform restaurant operational tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
