Kitchen Manager (4.75 hours) - Grant Elementary School
About the role
The Kitchen Manager (4.75 Hours) assists with management of the school kitchen, food preparation and serving of meals to students. The position requires cooperation with all others in the building.
Responsibilities
- Obtain and maintain a current Serv-Safe Certificate
- Complete an Allergen Awareness Certificate course
- Lead all aspects of the school kitchen
- Communicate with the school Principal and Secretary as needed
- Prepare and serve breakfast, as needed
- Perform monthly kitchen stock inventories
- Operate the Cash Register, scanning student cards and handling daily cash transactions
- Check and read daily emails and perform basic computer skills
Requirements
A current Serv-Safe Certificate is required, and the department will pay for the training and testing needed to meet this requirement. An Allergen Awareness Certificate course will be completed with information provided by the Food & Nutrition Services Office.

- Good memory recall and learning kitchen procedures

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks

Pay
The salary and fringe benefits will be consistent with the current agreement between the Board of Education and the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees.
