Kitchen Leader

About the role

As Kitchen Leader, you will learn how to prepare great food, grill meats, and sauté vegetables. You are responsible for making sure our food is absolutely delicious. You’ll order the food and train others to become future Kitchen Leaders. The Kitchen Leader helps ensure the quality and safety of Chipotle’s delicious food every day by maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen, and ensuring equipment is properly maintained and in good condition. Throughout the process, you will serve as a role model for Crew members, helping them learn to become future Kitchen Leaders while promoting teamwork and creating a great customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure food quality by cooking and prepping food to order, and following kitchen procedures
• Monitor food waste and inventory levels, and resolve food quality issues
• Support a strong team dynamic between back of house Crew and front of house Crew
• Develop Crew members to be future Kitchen Leaders
• Communicate effectively with Crew members and customers to ensure great customer service and throughput
• Ensure the kitchen is properly cleaned and sanitized
• Monitor kitchen equipment and ensure it is kept in good repair; arrange for prompt repairs of malfunctioning equipment
• Ensure the kitchen and all Crew members meet safety guidelines to prevent injuries or accidents
• Fill out Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and maintain Inventory Rotation (FIFO)

Requirements

• Ability to understand and articulate Chipotle’s Food With Integrity philosophy
• Proficiency in speaking, writing, and understanding the primary language(s) of the work location
• High school diploma
• Restaurant experience

Pay

Base pay range: $18.20–$20.26 per hour. This position is also eligible for digital tips. Actual base pay may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
