Kitchen Helper

Position Summary

The Kitchen Helper is responsible for performing routine kitchen duties, such as the preparation and serving of breakfast and/or lunch to students and staff, dishwashing, general cashiering and cleaning.

Essential Duties

• Preparation of food as directed by head cooks
• Serve food to students and staff
• Keep service area and food dispensers cleaned and stocked
• Count/record the quantity of food sold on daily and weekly sheets
• Compiles food and supply orders
• Receives money for cash sales in ala-cart line
• Aid with cleaning the kitchen, cooking equipment and entire serving area, including washing dishes with power washer
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Factors

• Frequent: walking, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, seeing, and repetitive motions
• Light Work: lifting up to 25 pounds and/or exerting up to 20 of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: 1-3 years' work-related experience
• Preferred: Bilingual
• Basic cashiering skills
• Knowledge of customer service principles

Schedule

SCHEDULE: Hourly: 4.75 /hrs day Hours may vary based on program needs

PAY

SALARY: $16.86 - $17.77/hr
