About the role

As S. W. Collins Company continues to grow, we are looking to expand our kitchen and bath design team. Designers have the opportunity to build relationships and connect with people daily, putting their creative talents to use matching colors, finishes, styles, and trends to make customers’ dreams become reality. Our design team is involved with new construction and renovation projects from start to finish, working across local communities both on job sites, in our showroom, and virtually to meet customer needs.

This is a challenging and rewarding position where every day and project is different. Product knowledge is key to success, and numerous training opportunities are provided throughout the year by S. W. Collins, our vendor network, and the National Kitchen and Bath Association.

Responsibilities

  • Manage kitchen and bath design projects from start to finish
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their vision and deliver tailored design solutions
  • Apply project management, attention to detail, time management, and relationship management skills
  • Work on-site, in the showroom, and virtually to meet customer needs
  • Stay current with design trends, finishes, and styles
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships

Requirements

  • Relevant experience preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in 2020 (or similar) design software preferred
  • Solid communication skills (oral and written)
  • Background in interior design and/or drafting preferred
  • Strong customer relationship skills and ability to build rapport
  • Ability to adapt, learn, and work as a motivated self-starter
  • Excellent time management skills

Pay

Hourly + Commission

Schedule

Full-Time: Monday – Friday with some Saturdays (a day off is available during the week when working on a Saturday).

Primary Location: S. W. Collins Company Home Design Center, Caribou, ME

Travel: As needed to customer job sites and trainings.
