Summary
Responsible for carrying out basic food preparation tasks and ensuring that chefs have everything they need. Keeps the kitchen clean and follows strict hygiene and health and safety rules. Completes all assignments made by the cook or Business Manager.
Primary Duties
- Maintains order and cleanliness in the kitchen and surrounding areas.
- Responsible for the back dock and dumpster areas; keeps these areas free from debris at all times.
- Keeps all coolers clean and organized.
- Organizes and fulfills inventory requisition orders from cooks.
- Sweeps and cleans the walk-in floor and dry storage area.
- Assists with the loading and unloading of the truck.
- Aids with deliveries, as needed.
- Stores delivered items after they have been checked in.
Secondary Duties
- Affords assistance with the tracking and ordering of necessary supplies.
- Maintains necessary certifications.
- Fulfills safe food handling practices.
- Attends meetings and events related to St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore.
- Upholds the vision, mission, and values of St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore.
- Participates fully in all required staff meetings.
- Creates an atmosphere of care and respect for staff and customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
