About the role
As a Kitchen and Equipment Cleaner at Martha's Vineyard Hospital, you will work with other team members to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized kitchen environment. This role supports the department's goal of achieving a Gold Standard Department, adhering to JCAHO and state standards.
Responsibilities
- Pot and pan responsibility: Washes pots, pans, and cooking utensils; stores equipment and utensils in proper locations; maintains correct water temperatures; cleans and sanitizes equipment; ensures pots, pans, and utensils are free of grease and food particles; air dries and stores items.
- Dish room duties: Works in the dish room from 12:30-1:30, washing cafe dishes properly; keeps dish return area clean; sweeps and mops kitchen floors; empties trash; cleans and sanitizes trash barrels and carts daily; cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment after each use; follows safety precautions.
- Storeroom responsibilities: Puts away food orders in their proper locations; labels and dates food supplies; ensures supplies are properly rotated; maintains refrigerators and storerooms; removes boxes and milk crates; uses the clean-as-you-go method; wears a hair restraint; follows cleaning lists; wears clean uniforms; washes hands at shift start and throughout shift.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- No experience in lieu of a degree accepted.
