About the role
KIPP Public Schools Northern California is a nonprofit network of free, public charter schools. The position is full-time and starts immediately.
Responsibilities
- Teach with Purpose: Develop and implement lesson plans, provide specialized instruction, and collaborate with students, families, and colleagues.
- Support and Collaboration: Work closely with the school’s Leadership Team to ensure students are learning and growing, and participate in weekly meetings and ongoing feedback.
- Commitment to Anti-Racism: Engage in ongoing development to reflect on identities and experiences, and analyze school systems and data to foster an anti-racist community.
Requirements
- Experience as an educator teaching students with similar demographics to our KIPP Public Schools Northern California student community
- Hold a B.A/B.S degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Meet one of the following eligibility requirements:
- Hold a valid teaching credential in the desired subject
- Eligibility for a Provisional Internship Permit
- Eligibility for a Short Term Staff Permit
Qualifications

- Possess strong content area knowledge
- Strong skills building relationships with students, families, and communities
- Communicate well with students, families, and colleagues
- Have proficient knowledge of Google Suite applications (Google Classroom, Hangout, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
- Have the ability to learn and utilize instructional technology to support in-class and distance learning
Skills
- Believe all students can achieve at the highest academic levels
- Implement culturally responsive classroom management strategies
- Develop individualized, modified lessons and/or curriculum for students with IEPs
- Train key stakeholders to support delivery of instruction
- Maintain a positive, warm, inclusive, rigorous, and engaging learning environment
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, families, and other key stakeholders
- Attend and engage in regular professional development and communities of practice
- Update and maintain students' special education records

Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt position on a school year calendar cycle, located at our school sites.
