Kindergarten Teaching Fellow
About the role
BASIS Baton Rouge Primary Mid City Campus is seeking qualified candidates for a Kindergarten Teaching Fellow to join their bright, passionate team!
Responsibilities
- Classroom teaching, both part-time and as a substitute
- Auxiliary support for classroom management
- Student academic support and tutoring
- Assistance with classroom events, labs, and testing
- Evaluation of student progress, needs, and gains
- Proctoring assessments
- Supervision of non-scheduled time, including Early Bird and Late Bird supervision and Lunch Monitor responsibilities
- Management of study groups
- Coordination of homework and assignments for absent students
- Support for behavior and discipline management
- Collaboration with academic programs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Willingness to take and pass the NES Elementary Education Assessment, if necessary
- Willingness to adopt and maintain current practices in subject matter knowledge and BASIS Charter School teaching methodologies
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card and/or satisfactory applicable state background check

- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to exercise excellent judgment and decision making
- Ability to work with diverse constituents while maintaining high professional standards
- Outstanding organizational skills; ability to establish and manage multiple priorities; ability to work under pressure
- Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy
