Kindergarten Teacher position open for the 2026-2027 school year at Springmill STEM Elementary School.
About the Role
To provide leadership for learning at the classroom level. Reports to the Building Principal/Designee.
Essential Skills
- Communications Skills: Includes traditional skills (reading, speaking, writing clearly) as well as social media communication and online engagement. Examples: creating short YouTube videos, reaching out to a wide community, receiving and incorporating feedback, sharing information appropriately, and identifying trends.
- Ability to Learn Independently: Taking responsibility for identifying knowledge needs and sourcing that knowledge, adapting to a constantly changing knowledge base (e.g., new equipment, processes, or key contacts).
- Ethics and Responsibility: Building trust in informal social networks, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and relying on others to achieve goals.
- Teamwork and Flexibility: Collaborating virtually and at a distance with colleagues, students, and partners. Pooling collective knowledge and problem-solving outside narrow job definitions.

Qualifications
- Valid Ohio Teaching Certificate/License in the appropriate subject area or grade level(s). Substitute licensure is not accepted.

Responsibilities
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in designated locations and times.
- Plans a program of study tailored to individual student needs, interests, and abilities.
- Creates a conducive learning environment appropriate to student maturity and interests.
- Prepares for classes and provides written evidence of preparation upon request.
- Designs and implements meaningful, dynamic lessons daily.
- Addresses learning needs based on formative and summative assessment data.
- Guides learning toward curriculum goals and establishes clear learning targets communicated to students.
- Employs varied instructional techniques and technology based on student needs.
- Implements the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals.
- Assesses student accomplishments regularly and provides detailed feedback.
- Identifies student learning difficulties and seeks assistance from district specialists as needed.
- Takes precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law and district policy.
- Assists in implementing policies and rules governing student conduct.

- Makes provisions for being available to students and parents outside the instructional day when required.
- Plans and supervises assignments for teacher aides and volunteers when appropriate.

Physical Requirements
