Kindergarten Teacher

Position Summary

Blessed Sacrament Catholic School in Burlington, NC, is seeking a full-time Kindergarten Teacher. The teacher will perform professional responsibilities, including but not limited to planning lessons, preparing instructional materials, communicating with parents and administration, and collaborating with and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and administration. This educator is responsible for instilling the values and mission of our parish school into teaching and learning. The individual who fulfills this position will carry out duties as assigned by the principal, including but not limited to the responsibilities below:

Key Responsibilities

• Provide an environment that fosters a love of learning and allows students to grow in their faith.
• Deliver engaging instruction across grade-level curriculum areas.
• Demonstrate content expertise by making cross-curricular connections and developing instructional plans that incorporate higher-order thinking skills.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and school administration to foster a supportive and successful academic environment.
• Partner closely with the Kindergarten team and the Instructional Teaching Assistant to co-plan and deliver high-quality instruction that meets the diverse needs of all students.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Professional experience related to Elementary School teaching.
• NC Teaching license or equivalent from another state.
• Employment is contingent upon passing a criminal background and reference check; must complete Diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience teaching lower elementary students.
• Prior experience teaching in a Catholic school.
