About the role

The position is designed for someone who enjoys motivating young learners, values data-driven results, and understands that the right coach can fundamentally alter a child's path. This is a full-time, in-person position at an Alpha campus.

What You Will Be Doing

• Facilitate interactive life-skills workshops that guide K-3 students toward mastery of communication, concentration, feedback, and other foundational skills through active engagement rather than passive instruction.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, validated motivation frameworks, and meaningful relationships to ensure every child advances toward challenging weekly learning targets.
• Evaluate life-skill proficiency using Alpha's Test2Pass framework, coaching students until they exhibit genuine comprehension—not merely participation.
• Modify your coaching approach to match the developmental stage of your cohort, incorporating songs, movement, and narrative for younger students or emphasizing greater autonomy and responsibility for older learners.
• Cultivate relationships in which students feel secure enough to extend beyond what they believed they could accomplish.

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Presenting academic lessons at a whiteboard.
• Developing curriculum independently.
• Observing students as they work quietly on computers.
• Reducing expectations in response to student difficulties.
• Administering homework, grading assignments, or managing standard parent communications.

Basic Requirements

• Willing to work in-person at an Alpha campus.
• Current opportunities exist in La Jolla (San Diego); Orange County (Lake Forest); Los Angeles (South Bay, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Malibu); San Francisco Bay Area (San Francisco, Palo Alto, Piedmont); Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton; Miami; Miami Beach; Palm Beach Gardens; Chicago; Boston; New York City; and Kirkland (Seattle area).
• Relocation support is available.
• Bachelor's degree in any field.
• A minimum of 3 years of direct experience with children ages 4-9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or comparable settings.
• Demonstrated success motivating young children to accomplish demanding goals, with concrete examples of your influence.
• The capacity to combine warmth with consistent, high expectations.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Background in youth athletics, children's theater, camp leadership, Montessori education, progressive schooling, or highly interactive after-school programs.
• Personal history of pursuing and reaching ambitious objectives in academics, sports, or professional endeavors.
• Exceptional storytelling or performance abilities that naturally engage young children's attention.
• Demonstrated success transforming hesitant or reserved children into confident, active participants.
