Responsibilities
- Teach early literacy skills, including letter recognition and phonemic awareness.
- Develop early numeracy through counting, number recognition, and one-to-one correspondence.
- Support fine motor development with activities like pencil grip, writing readiness, cutting, and gluing.
- Foster social-emotional readiness, including following directions, sharing, and turn-taking.
- Introduce basic concepts of color, shape, and pattern in a playful, developmentally appropriate way.
- Explain developmental milestones and school readiness indicators to prepare children for kindergarten.
- Use play-based, multisensory instruction (e.g., hands-on manipulatives, songs, games) to engage young learners.
- Adapt instruction to address common challenges like fine motor coordination, letter-sound confusion, and separation anxiety.
- Tailor teaching methods to individual learning needs and styles, ensuring a fun and confidence-building experience.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of kindergarten readiness standards and early childhood development.
- Ability to teach academic, motor, and social-emotional skills through play-based learning.
- Experience identifying and addressing common pre-K challenges (e.g., fine motor skills, letter-sound confusion).
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
- Familiarity with adaptive instruction techniques for children ages 3–5.
- Ability to explain concepts using multiple approaches to suit different learning styles.
