Responsibilities

• Teach early literacy skills, including letter recognition and phonemic awareness.
• Develop early numeracy through counting, number recognition, and one-to-one correspondence.
• Support fine motor development with activities like pencil grip, writing readiness, cutting, and gluing.
• Foster social-emotional readiness, including following directions, sharing, and turn-taking.
• Introduce basic concepts of color, shape, and pattern in a playful, developmentally appropriate way.
• Explain developmental milestones and school readiness indicators to prepare children for kindergarten.
• Use play-based, multisensory instruction (e.g., hands-on manipulatives, songs, games) to engage young learners.
• Adapt instruction to address common challenges like fine motor coordination, letter-sound confusion, and separation anxiety.
• Tailor teaching methods to individual learning needs and styles, ensuring a fun and confidence-building experience.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of kindergarten readiness standards and early childhood development.
• Ability to teach academic, motor, and social-emotional skills through play-based learning.
• Experience identifying and addressing common pre-K challenges (e.g., fine motor skills, letter-sound confusion).
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Familiarity with adaptive instruction techniques for children ages 3–5.
• Ability to explain concepts using multiple approaches to suit different learning styles.
