Description
Role Mission: IDEA Co-Teachers learn instructional strategies and develop their teaching skills in order to provide highly effective instruction to IDEA students. They implement Direct Instruction Curriculum (DI) and are responsible for student instruction under the guidance of an IDEA teacher and assistant principal of instruction. DI co-teachers use clear instruction and ensure students grasp the content before moving on. Groups are organized by level to accommodate individual student paces. This position is grant-funded with Title I Part A funds.

- Compensation: Hourly rate ranging from $16.61 to $23.98 per hour, paid over a 12-month period.

What You Bring
- Qualifications: At least 48 college hours required or bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution; 1+ year(s) of experience working with children in a classroom or volunteer setting; ability to master Direct Instruction Curriculum; strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to adjust and adapt to various school environments; willingness to engage in continuous learning and development.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the educational development of students under the direction of classroom teachers.
- Maintain student records.
- Implement the Direct Instruction (DI) Curriculum.
- Communicate students' progress with students and families weekly.
- Develop a clear and consistent behavior management system aligned with campus-wide initiatives.
- Create a productive and enthusiastic learning environment for each student.
- Host necessary tutoring sessions to meet all students' needs.
- Attend weekly manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, before and after-school duties, and school-wide meetings and functions.
- Engage in summer and year-long district, school, and personal learning and development.
