About Us
Carmeuse started as a small family-run business in Belgium and is now a leading global producer of lime, high calcium limestone, and dolomitic stone. Its products are essential to energy producers, environmental services, construction, and manufacturing. With over 90 production facilities across almost every continent and over 4,500 employees, Carmeuse values its people as its most treasured resource.
Carmeuse Americas, headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, is North America's largest producer of lime and limestone products. A division of the global Carmeuse Group, it manufactures up to 7 million tons of finished products and 25 million tons of chemical limestone and aggregates annually. With over 150 years of experience and 2,000 employees, Carmeuse operates 28 manufacturing facilities in the USA and Canada. Products are quarried and mined from natural, high-quality limestone deposits and manufactured into quicklime, hydrated lime, and high-purity chemical-grade limestone for industries including power generation, steelmaking, water and waste treatment, construction, and paper manufacturing.
Carmeuse uses cutting-edge technology for research and development to ensure product reliability and meet customer needs, providing in-field application support. A network of terminals transports products via trains, trucks, and barges to meet customer demands.
