About the Role
As an Order Taker/Runner, you'll play a key role in the overall H-E-B Restaurant guest experience by providing positive and memorable service while you take guest orders, prepare drinks, deliver food, and maintain cleanliness of the dining area and patio.
Responsibilities
- Builds strong relationships with customers in varying situations
- Takes orders from customers; assists with menu / beverage selections, including alcoholic beverages
- Provides detailed information on menu items and specials, and beer and wine
- Serves food, drink, and products to guests
- Processes cash, check, debit, and credit transactions accurately and quickly
- Uses suggestive selling techniques / merchandises effectively to meet guest needs and build department sales
- Interacts positively with customers in person, on the phone, or through technology
- Assists with catering orders as needed
- Addresses complaints; resolves problems in a way that builds relationships
- Models teamwork to ensure a great guest experience
- Prepares, packages, merchandises product
- Assists in technical areas as needed
- Ensures compliance with TABC regulations
- Ensures compliance with department and Store standard operating procedures
- Buses / cleans tables; performs deep clean of dining, ordering, bar areas, as needed
- Maintains beverage station and bar areas
- Maintains sanitation in food / beverage prep areas and display cases
- Properly handles, operates, and maintains equipment
Qualifications
- Age Requirement: 18+
- 1+ years of experience in customer service
- Experience in restaurant Point of Sale (POS) systems (preferred)

Requirements
- Completion of Alcohol Seller Training / Cash Handling training - upon hire
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Function in a fast-paced, retail environment
- Work extended hours and / or rotating schedules

- Demonstrate the ability to lift 50 lbs, and manage in excess of 50 lbs
